I look calm, but my heart is pounding

I sound confident, but God knows how insecure I feel

I look approachable, but truthfully I’m reserved

I seem nice, but it’s because I’m trying to change for the better

I look good, because only God knows my ugliness.

First impressions aren’t everything. Let go of your assumptions and expectations, because no one deserves to be placed in a box of a perfect illusion. Everybody’s torn inside, everybody’s broken. So let’s be imperfect together and just be.

Be yourself. You don’t have to be afraid, even if nobody understands you. 

Be vulnerable, because we’re all humans.

Be gentle, even if it means people would label you as weak.

And do good. Don’t be afraid to do good.

Life’s too short to be lived just like others.

You do you.

And leave the rest to Him.
